This study aimed to understand the application of the Ovako Working Posture Analysis System (OWAS) method and to analyze work posture assessment matrices based on observed activities. A descriptive observational method was used through direct observation of work postures during sitting while typing on a laptop and lifting an object from the floor. Data were collected through smartphone documentation and analyzed based on OWAS classification, including back position, arms, legs, and load handled during work. The results showed that the sitting posture while typing had an OWAS code of 1-1-1-1 and was classified into action category 1, indicating a safe posture with no immediate corrective action required. Meanwhile, the activity of lifting an object from the floor had an OWAS code of 2-1-4-1 and was classified into action category 2, indicating the need for future improvement due to potential musculoskeletal strain. These findings show that different work postures produce different ergonomic risk levels, particularly in activities involving bending movements. The OWAS method can be effectively applied to identify work posture risks and provide recommendations for improving occupational safety and ergonomic conditions.
